We're thrilled to announce that we're taking part in Shitbox Rally 2027 - Spring! We’ll be hitting the road in our $1,500-or-less Shitbox - a 1999 Toyota Camry that has already completed 3 rallies, driving from Albury-Wodonga to Mackay on an unforgettable 7-day adventure. It’s not just about the drive—it’s about making a real difference in the fight against cancer.
Every participating team is required to raise a minimum of $5,000. Every dollar raised goes directly to Cancer Council and helps fund vital cancer research, which is why we’re doing everything we can to hit our goal. Your support, whether big or small, will have a real impact.
This year, Jodi is replacing Charlie as the co-driver. Across 3 previous rallies, Charlie and Peter have raised over $49,000 thanks to generous supporters, donors and sponsors. We are aiming to raise well over the minimum $5,000 required to enter the rally again this year.
Team Beers & Bubbles will be rallying in honour of Jodi's dad Ian who lost his battle with lung cancer in March 2026, Peter's cousin Russell who left us in September 2026 also from lung cancer, and our sister-in-law Kiryn, who after beating breast cancer a few years ago is now undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer.
Many of us have been affected by cancer in one way or another. Whether it be parents, family, close friends, people we know or ourselves that have battled or are battling cancer, this awful disease has touched us all. We not only want to raise awareness and money for Cancer Council, but also want to offer support and a friendly ear to those that have suffered or are suffering.
These funds go to the Cancer Council and we are extremely proud to be doing our part to support such a worthy charity. The fundraising is the hard part, so any donation you can give is greatly appreciated. Please make sure to follow our progress via this page and the blog post below or our FACEBOOK page at

Beers & Bubbles are driving a $1,500 car from Albury-Wodonga to Mackay to raise money for Cancer Council
They're doing what!?
Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
Donate NowEvery rally. Every dollar.
Directly to Cancer Council.
Box Rallies is the largest funder of cancer research in Australia — outside of the government. Every dollar supports Cancer Council.
