We’re excited to announce that we’re taking part in Shitbox Rally 2027 – Spring! After losing both of our Shitboxes in the last rally, a generous fellow Shitboxer has gifted us a car so we can keep pushing to raise funds for cancer. We’ll be driving our new $1,500‑or‑less Shitbox from Albury–Wodonga to Mackay on a 7‑day adventure — not just for the challenge, but for a cause that affects every one of us. Cancer has deeply touched our lives. Katrina has lost 17 friends to cancer, and both of us have family members currently fighting it.

Shitbox Rally is Cancer Council’s biggest fundraiser, contributing nearly $70 million to cancer research since 2009. That research is saving lives: survival rates are now higher than 70%, and with continued funding, we hope that number climbs even higher.

Each team must raise $5,000, with every dollar going directly to Cancer Council. We’re doing everything we can to reach our goal, and your support — big or small — genuinely helps drive life‑changing research.

Thank you for backing something that truly matters. Together, we can help push survival rates even higher and give more families hope.

ALBURY-WODONGA MACKAY 3,400 km in a $1,500 car CHICKS IN THE STICKS

Chicks in the Sticks are driving a $1,500 car from Albury-Wodonga to Mackay to raise money for Cancer Council

They're doing what!?

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.

Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.

The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.

And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.

This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
