WE’RE DOING IT AGAIN… well, one of us is!
We’re super excited to announce that Kristy & Lauren are taking on Shitbox Rally 2027 – Spring!
We’re two sisters from little old Porepunkah, Victoria, with a love of adventure, a questionable sense of what constitutes a “good idea” and apparently enough enthusiasm to voluntarily drive a shitbox across Australia.
For Lauren, it’s round two after surviving her first rally, and for Kristy, it’s a rookie mission — so naturally, we thought doing it together was a brilliant idea!
We’ll be hitting the road in our $1,500-or-less Shitbox, taking on the 7-day adventure from Albury-Wodonga to Mackay. Seven days, one very questionable car, plenty of dirt, dust and hopefully a whole lot of laughs. What could possibly go wrong?
But behind the dodgy car, dusty roads, questionable decisions and plenty of laughs is something that really matters to us.
Like so many families, we’ve watched people we love take on the fight against cancer, with some heartbreaking outcomes and some incredible stories of strength and survival. We’re doing our little bit to help make a difference for those facing cancer now and for generations to come.
Every team taking part is required to raise a minimum of $5,000, with every dollar raised going directly to Cancer Council to help fund vital cancer research. That’s why we’re going to do everything we can to hit our goal!
Whether you can donate $5, $50 or $500, every dollar makes a difference. And if donating isn’t possible, sharing our journey, cheering us on from the sidelines, or simply checking in to make sure we haven’t broken down somewhere in the middle of nowhere — we’ll take it!
So, buckle up, cross your fingers and follow along as two sisters, one $1,500 shitbox and a whole lot of optimism take on the Australian outback — all while raising money for a cause that affects so many of us.It’s not just about the drive. It’s about making a real difference in the fight against cancer.
Bring on Shitbox Rally 2027!
Punkah Pink Bits are driving a $1,500 car from Albury-Wodonga to Mackay to raise money for Cancer Council
They're doing what!?
Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
Donate NowEvery rally. Every dollar.
Directly to Cancer Council.
Box Rallies is the largest funder of cancer research in Australia — outside of the government. Every dollar supports Cancer Council.
