We've travelled the Nullarbor, tackled the Great Central Road and collected plenty of laughs and stories along the way. Now we're taking on our next adventure — Shitbox Rally 2027 – Spring! Seven days on the road from Albury-Wodonga to Mackay. What could possibly go wrong?
There's a bit more to this adventure than just two old mates, a dodgy set of wheels and a questionable amount of confidence!
Cancer has touched both our families. One of our daughters, Tiarna, was diagnosed with bladder cancer at just 24 and has been living with recurrent bladder cancer for the past 8 years. Both our mums, Jan and Margaret, have also battled breast cancer.
When it's people you love, cancer hits close to home. We want to do our bit to help raise money for cancer research and support other families going through what ours have experienced.
Every team is required to raise a minimum of $5,000.00 for Cancer Council to help fund vital cancer research. We're going to give it our best shot, and every donation, big or small, will help us reach our target.
We'll bring the camping gear, pack our sense of humour, cross our fingers that the car makes it and deal with whatever the road throws at us. After all, a breakdown or two will just give us another story to tell!
Thirty years of friendship, one shitbox and a cause close to our hearts. We're ready to hit the road, have a bloody good adventure and make every klm
count!
Steamboat Willie's Monkey Mayhem are driving a $1,500 car from Albury-Wodonga to Mackay to raise money for Cancer Council
They're doing what!?
Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
