We’re excited to announce that we’re hitting the road for Shitbox Rally 2027 – Spring, and we’re bringing our very own time machine along for the ride… THE DEPLOREAN!
Roads? Where we’re going, we don't need roads!
Armed with a $1,500-or-less shitbox, a questionable sense of adventure, and hopefully enough flux capacitor energy to get us from Albury-Wodonga to Mackay in one piece, we’ll be taking on an epic 7-day road trip that’s sure to be heavy.
But this trip is about more than dodgy mechanics, questionable pit stops, and travelling through time (or at least across Australia). We’re on a mission to help change the future for all people affected by cancer.
Every team in Shitbox Rally is required to raise a minimum of $5,000, with every dollar raised going directly to Cancer Council to fund vital cancer research. We might not be able to change the past, jump to 88 mph, or guarantee that The DePlorean makes it to the finish line… but together, we can help build a future with better cancer treatments, improved outcomes, and more lives saved.

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
